I finally have found a remix of this song-I'll admit I have been known to love good trance, and when it's remixed well with dubstep, damn makes your heart go twice as fast. Motorcycle on the original, the words repeated, 'embrace me, surround me, as the rush comes,' never fail to bring goosebumps.
The last two songs have been more mellowed out, but I post what I enjoy, and that isn't always hard, or grime, or up-beat. The beat has beauty in it, and I find it relaxing. High-Rankin on the remix, check out his soundcloud for more beats.
For those of you who are in DC today, you should check out UStreet Music Hall tonight. Not the biggest fan of Steeze Promo, whose hosting, but HUGE fan of Emalkay. First heard live at Fall Massive last year, I was all about, 'When I Look At You,' ofcourse this is before he got blown up. Still, when you like an artist for their music, you will continue to no matter what. Take a look at his MySpace and Facebook as well as the Event Page for details about tonight. And for more tunez, check out his YouTube. The show is $10.
When I Look At You is PURE Emalkay CLASSIC. Take a listen.
No matter where you are right now, it's probably at least below freezing. Not to add to your goose bumps but this song really gets em going. I was introduced to the song by the guy that got me into this whole scene. Heard it a while back, and fell in love. Never got a chance to blog so here I am, blogging one beautiful song and its' remix on a FREEZING, somewhat snowy December day.
Here is the original, featuring Soundmouse, actually I quite like the music video, very Eruotastic.
So I was at a little show called Fall Massive this weekend-you may have heard of it. Ha you're a sucker if you didn't hear about it. Massive in Baltimore brought out some big names, and some amazing artists.
Had to go into NumberNin6 a bit more though-making 2 appearences this week in the DC area, one at Drumstix 2 and one at Fall Massive. Both times he absolutely killed it. And I mean murdered that bassline-NumberNin6 brings the concept of dubstep back to what I first heard when the genre Dubstep was dropped into my lap. Both composure in beats, and just enough grime, when needed-not over done, but always satisfying, leaving his fans craving more.
Had to pick a few of my favorites out, but be sure to check out his SOUNDCLOUD for all music, and his MYSPACE, for free download links.
Dropped both times this weekend, this song drops harder than a bowling ball to your hand. NumberNin6 - Garbage by NumberNin6
Relaxed dub feel-this song reminds me of the term "dubstep" and how this beat mixes dubstep originality with experimental smoothness. NumberNin6 - Sarangi by NumberNin6
Topping on the the GrimeBass Cake-A 57 min installment of fresh new dub and a few unreleased tunes from NumberNin6 and his very bassy friends.
I have gone somewhat MIA on this blog, my apologies! It has been a rough month. Fear not, i'm coming atcha with some wicked tunes.
If you havn't heard the name yet, you will eventually. Growing fast than the amount states banning four lokos. Infectious, his beats bring catchy yet grime sounds to an popular growing population of electro-dub/dubstep lovers. Yes, you cannot ignore the fact that the genre is on the rise. Although already mainstream, Skrillex brings some uniqueness to his tunes, and I find myself head-banging everytime. Waiting for the buildup and letting the drop move my body. His artwork for the CD cover isn't bad either.
I picked my top 3. If you find you like what you hear, he will preforming tonight in Richmond VA for yet another installment of DubNation. Definitely worth checking out if you can make it down there. As an extra bonous, Doorly will be making an apearence (hopefully longer than 10 minutes, like his last appearence in B-more).
Straight outta the underground in the West London comes yet another talented female artist, whose vocals mixed with bassy tunes bring a very relaxed dubstep theme. On the rise, continue to look out for Louisa Bass-an up and coming young new artist. She is already in talks with some of the biggest names for collaborations so this is definitely not the last time you will hear of her. Her album is expected to drop in 2011-the song, Tattooed is very well remixed by Veto-XL. Very worth the download.
I have a bass addication. If you do too, then this is most definitley the place for you. Got some new tunes for you to add to your never-ending playlist of dubbby-dubby-dubbb :)
Magnetic Man, feat. Katy B is classic example of good dubstep and UK pop-dub mixing. I first heard Katy B when her UK single, On a Mission dropped a few months back on Rub-A-Dub-Dub. Adding Benga to the mix, and you get a nice slow dub remix of an already good song.
Dansette Junior, another artist up and coming released a new track recently. This one is an exclusive, and won't be forthcoming on the Dansette Junior album! It's got a nice bassy UK feel, with an "unreal" feeling to the chours
October is gonna be the month where you save your money for some rockin' events. And to kick off the month, there will be two fabulous shows in Virginia! Yes, that's right, VA. Baltimore is home to most of the shows I go too, but keep in mind, that a good planner always mixes it up.
Good Times-taking place from October 2, threw October 3, is worth making the 4 hour trip from here down south to VA beach, where T.N.T as well as other promotions such as Good Vibes are throwing together one big ass BBQ/Rave. Why such an excitment? I have several noteworthy artists, and friends, who will be preforming! Two of them, are original writers for this blog along with myself. Nick Riley, better known by his DJ name, Nick of Time, and James Durant, known by his DJ names as KING J4MES have been active in helping me write this blog since it began in February. As well, my brother from another mother, Nick Bortz, better known by his DJ name Borticus will be making his big debut to the rave scene. Some other mentionables include, Elemental, who has made numerous appearences throughout Baltimore.
Read below for full information, this is NOT something you should miss out on. Having known a lot of the kids who will be a part of this, the spirits will be good, the talent will be amazing, and not limited to just DJing. Poi, light-shows, drum circles, and a hell of a lot of PLUR going on.
Oh, did I mention it's 2 stages, over 20 DJ's and only $10. Can you say, WICKED deal?
Check out the event page for more details and take a listen to some of what's in store :)
In a wicked rush for work, so i'll leave it at this. Want to make everyone feel sexy on their fridays, decided time to pick up some wicked beats with sexy voices, sexy sounds, over-all sexiness.
Not sure how I stumbled upon this, however I will say it was not StumbleUpon haha-it's a remix of an Indie rock artist, Sara Bareilles, K-mode on the remix. He's definitely worth taking a listen to.
Wanna download? Holler at me, this one was harder to find. Sexy tunes. Sexy women. Happy Friday.
Was surfing around from some grime dubstep to start your weekend off, and found this. Little mix of some of my favorites, everything from that SWAG to WHERE'S MY MONEY. Classic artists such as Caspa, Benga, Rusko, Skream, and Deadmau5. Don't you just love when you can fit a bunch of wicked good songs into one tiny mix, teasing you with the grime and making you want more. DJ Praiz, hailing from the UK has quite the unique sound, twisting and changing up familiar beats. DOWNLOAD THIS MIX HERE
If you like the grime, then you'll definitely like this DrumnBass mash up. Tad bit longer, at 9 minutes, it's the perfect wake up bass in your face mix. Artists include Chase and Status, High Contrast, and Sub Focus. Very upbeat, very dirty. DOWNLOAD THIS MIX HERE
This mix is going to blow your mind-period. A majority of you guys are heading back to your schools, your jobs-or just hate the feeling that we're about to be in September already. Why not end it with a bang?
This mix has some of the hottest tracts from this summer. A mix of Electro Disco/Dubstep/Electro/Dutch House and Electro House-you must check this out. The artist-new for me, Pills Here-are a group of both producers and DJ's collaborating together to bring the fucking rage. Be sure to check out their other shit, it's worth it. This mix makes me want to be in full rave gear, and reminds me of how sick summer 2010 was. Don't be sad though, this mix also reminds us that the music NEVER ends.
Reminder-SUMMER MASSIVE 2010 is a week from today, August 28th, if you havn't gotten tickets yet, you really should-expect a sell out rager, tickets have gone up to $25-get em while you can. And look for me there, i'll be raging out with King J4MES & Borticus along with some of my other favorite ravers.
Thought i'd feed you guys some good tunes-found these the other day, they're all remix's of regular pop, rock, etc. songs: re-done to drumnbass, dubstep, etc.
(for any who are fans of Snow Patrol and even for those who are not. DrumnBass remixed, I enjoy the pace in this song, upbeat with a mellow side. It puts a little spin on indie rock, mixed well.)
(loving loving LOVING this song loads-for any fans of Oasis, this remix is most definitely for you. Starts slow, then picks up with a fast past, and throw in that synthie feeling with the fast past of drumnbass-this song totally has my heart today)
(remixed and still mysterious-what I love about this is sometimes there are remix's that just don't fit the song-it's almost like dubstep, and then the original added on top, doesn't sync or anything, but this remix maintains the original feel while adding it's own spin making for a super mysterious dubby song-i love it)
(YES YES YES-this song, I know everyone will enjoy. Dead Perez's infamous Hip-Hop remixed by WTF just for your listening pleasure. Grime as fuck. Spin it down and break them beats. This song has you singing the words and the womps with it. Your gonna wanna move your body to this one.)
What happens when you take really good rap, and re-mix it with some dirty good dubstep?
Magic.
Stumbled upon this today and had to share, Hip-Hop by Dead Perez is a classic example of a good rap song. Now take that good rap song, and add some wobblie wobbles and you have WTF's verzion of "Hip Hop" and it's definitely "bigger than."
Just goes to show that music genres were meant to be mashed together when they're great.
I fucking love Annie Mac. Who wouldn't? She's got that sick UK british accent, and the beats she brings on her shows are legendary.
I stumbled upon this mix this morning actually, and it's flipping fantastic! 2 hours of a mixture of different beats, raging from dubstep, disco, hiphop, and even some BIGGY-yep, I fucking said it, the notorious B.I.G. is thrown into this mix.
Downside to this mix, there's a lot of talking in between some of the beats, but then again, this is a radio show that Annie Mac throws together in the UK, for BBC radio, known as BBC Radio One- and ofcourse they talk, just bare through it, it's worth it. Being 2 hours long, even if you don't hear something you like in the beginning you'll hear something later on, that's the beauty of these mix's is that she throws a mix of everything in. My soundclouds' getting a little overcrowded with music so go ahead and download it via mediashare! Link is below.

Happy to Tuesday to everyone, for most, it's one of the shittiest days of the week, however for me, it's the sweet smell of payday ;)
Gotta be quick-gotta get up and moving however I found this amazingly beautiful remix of Sierra Leone, yess that's right B.E.A.U.T.I.F.U.L. I've hit you up with Mt. Eden dubstep, but this remix comes out of New Zealand-which is nice because if gives us a taste of dubstep around the world.
This song pretty much speaks for itself, enjoy it and wake up :)
I'm having some troubles getting up the blogpost that I wanted to be up by yesterday-look out for it tonight, until then, here are a few facemelters.
Be warned-listening may cause, faces to slowly melt and ears to bleed out with bass.
Hooky-“Hooky has been spotted lurking around area 51. There has been many suspicious events happening in the area such as people’s bleeding limbs flying at very high speeds through the air. Scientists in the area have confirmed that there have been large movements in contour lines due to bass frequencies”…
Reid Speed has graced us with yet another amazing mix--nothing short of a face melter, this mix is perfect for summer.

If you could put on a Dubstep show with something crazy, what would it be? Well Detroit's got the right idea--why not bring the circus and dubstep together!? In all of it's madness, I am happy to present today's daily dose of dubstep--videoo!
It's pretty much speaks for itself ;) Enjoy dubstep lovers, more music is on it's way!
In case you missed the memo-Click at the legendary Paradox in Baltimore took place last night! Talk about some amazing party. Although most of the Baltimore crowd made it's way to Unity in North Carolina this past weekend, masses still managed to make it out for Click-headliner being the legendary Designer Drugs.
After a long friday night-and a late start to my Saturday afternoon, I finally made my way out round 11pm with my usual rave crew-King J4MES & Borticus included! Good vibes, open air, BB-Q's, ravetastic lights, graffiti, hoopers, and even some Avatars ;)
Opening for Designer Drugs-DJ group, Deadhead DJ's straight outta the UK. Having the opportunity to meet them, we had to ask how they were enjoying America, what they thoughtof the Baltimore rave scene and such. Intriguing really, they mentioned how in the UK dubstepis way past the norm, and they're challenge is to come up with new genres as opposed to justplain dubstep/dnb. Also mentioned, upon being flown into America and put up in a nice hotel, each was give $500 for spending money. Ah, the wonderful life of being a DJ. Check out their summer mix on the soundcloud link below and enjoy the photos!
For those of you who have heard the saying, Dub in my veins puts a spring in my step, you'll appreciate this. Grime, and nasty to the core, Pornstep adds a new spin on an already filthy genre. So much to update, almost a month has gone by, and us writers have done a shit-ass-job of bringing you guys the tunes you oh so desire. So today, i'm gonna post more than one daily dose! Womp Womp wibble wibbleeeee DUBBBBSTEPPPPP.
Get down with the nasty! Look out for this particular tune TONIGHT, as Ms. Thizzle proudly presents, King J4MES and Borticus live, at Sabore, in Clevland Park, DC. Spinning live, from 11-4am, this show is not to be missed. Up and coming, James Durant and Nick Bortz are quickly hitting the dubstep/electro scene and proving that time does not make the artist, rather dedication. Having only started spinning a few months back, Nick has already shown great potential and easily latches on to any type of genre. He currently is learning how to mix drum and bass. James, on the other hand, is a vetran to the game. Hailing from Portland, James has been spinning since 2007 and continues to get better and better with each passing minute. His more relaxed dub/electro make for perfect post rave relaxtion, however don't underestimate the power of his womps.
Thus, King J4MES and Borticus were born, bringing both firepower and realism. Using influences such as Jakwob, 2Rip, Eskmo, Daedelus, & Nosia. Drinks are cheap, and its a free cover charge. You don't wanna miss them, up and coming, expect big things from these two in the future!
Now, for your daily dose of Dub! PORNstep, you knew it was coming. You can try to run and hide, but it's coming for you, PORNstep. Not much to explain, the song speaks for itself, nice touch with the ladies. Really gets the juices following, look for this track to drop tonight during the set! There's the YouTube Video, as well as my new SoundCloud set up, which allows you to straight up download the bitch! Enjoy.
