I finally have found a remix of this song-I'll admit I have been known to love good trance, and when it's remixed well with dubstep, damn makes your heart go twice as fast. Motorcycle on the original, the words repeated, 'embrace me, surround me, as the rush comes,' never fail to bring goosebumps.
The last two songs have been more mellowed out, but I post what I enjoy, and that isn't always hard, or grime, or up-beat. The beat has beauty in it, and I find it relaxing. High-Rankin on the remix, check out his soundcloud for more beats.

So I was at a little show called Fall Massive this weekend-you may have heard of it. Ha you're a sucker if you didn't hear about it. Massive in Baltimore brought out some big names, and some amazing artists.
Had to go into NumberNin6 a bit more though-making 2 appearences this week in the DC area, one at Drumstix 2 and one at Fall Massive. Both times he absolutely killed it. And I mean murdered that bassline-NumberNin6 brings the concept of dubstep back to what I first heard when the genre Dubstep was dropped into my lap. Both composure in beats, and just enough grime, when needed-not over done, but always satisfying, leaving his fans craving more.

I've been waiting for the right moment to blog about a very important influence in the underground. Being the 100th post, I thought I'd share a little bit about a DJ that has had a powerful influence in the underground scene here in teh DMV, as well as nationally. To some he goes by Chad, but to others he goes by DJ2Rip. 2Rip, was first found his musical inspiration in the 1980's has developed his own stilo of Djing and turned a now modern world of Underground into something more spiritual. He is not your normal, average DJ. If you have been lucky enough to see him preform live, then you will know what I am talking about.
For 2Rip, I have learned that it is about bringing PLUR back to the rave scene. when you step into one of his shows, you don't see just a stage, people, lights, and music. You see another world of the underground. Having been in the music scene for over a decade, 2Rip brings to the table something other DJ's have not. And that is, an art, and a uniquness to put on a wicked good show. The events, maybe you know a few, have been considered some of the best in the country. Opening for big artists such as MsterKraft, and Benny Benassi, and brining UK drumnbass group Pendulum to DC. He is also notoriously known for throwing outlawed renegade events that don't begun until way after the sun has gone down and don't end until the sun is back up and a new day has begun.
His stilo, is all his own. Mixing anything from techno, to bassline house, breaks, electro, and ofcourse that dubbadubbaDUBSTEP. He has rightfully earned his title as a respectful DJ. He is that artist that seeks out unknown spots and plans renegades you could only dream of. In fact, he makes your underground dreams a reality. The rave scene has somewhat has earned a bad name over the years. With drugs and bad vibes being the norm. However, you go to anyone of his shows, whether that be DMT, Mushroom Kindgom, Psychedelic Dreamscape, or most recently Big Dub Candy Mountain, and your eyes are open to a true underground world. Being in the mountains for a night in PA this past weekend, I saw free spirits, drum circlues, and true music/rave lovers at their best. PLUR was in full effect. 2Rip brings people together and allows you to open your mind to what music can open up inside of you. You can find youself. And you always make new friends.
The first time I met Chad, I sensed that he was the type of DJ that will always put his fans and his love for music before fame. And he has not let anyone down. And I see his fans showing true dedication to his cause. A rare example of the relationships that DJ's and their fans can have. Just another small wonder of the Underground. Why did I write so much on this DJ? He has had a positive influence on how I look at my life. I came home from Ithaca in March, lost with what I wanted to do, and over the months, I have watched and seen these shows and this dedication and found that I myself have a true passion for these types of things. I found a little bit of myself, which these days, if you don't listen to yourself, is rare.

I just want to recap this weekend a little. It was pretty epic, for Burbon Street. Now, i'm a huge dubstep/dnb fan, but I have my moments where I am a huge hardstyler. Recently i've been getting into shuffling more, which if you don't know what it is, check out this video below and see how these girls do it :)
Anyway, this past weekend, Burbon played host to Showtek, a hardstyle group from Holland. Yes, that's right, this weekend, Baltimore got a little taste of Nadderrlauundds. Having visited holland and raved 2 weeks straight, I knew this was a concert not to be missed. And it blew my mind. I havn't seen that many ravers come together and dance as hard as we did Friday night. We truly brought down the house. And lost a few pounds. Showtek ended September with a bang and left excitment for the next month of incredible raves coming up.
Take a listen, it's way different-but for all you rave die-hearts, shuffle on baby.
October is gonna be the month where you save your money for some rockin' events. And to kick off the month, there will be two fabulous shows in Virginia! Yes, that's right, VA. Baltimore is home to most of the shows I go too, but keep in mind, that a good planner always mixes it up.
Good Times-taking place from October 2, threw October 3, is worth making the 4 hour trip from here down south to VA beach, where T.N.T as well as other promotions such as Good Vibes are throwing together one big ass BBQ/Rave. Why such an excitment? I have several noteworthy artists, and friends, who will be preforming! Two of them, are original writers for this blog along with myself. Nick Riley, better known by his DJ name, Nick of Time, and James Durant, known by his DJ names as KING J4MES have been active in helping me write this blog since it began in February. As well, my brother from another mother, Nick Bortz, better known by his DJ name Borticus will be making his big debut to the rave scene. Some other mentionables include, Elemental, who has made numerous appearences throughout Baltimore.
Read below for full information, this is NOT something you should miss out on. Having known a lot of the kids who will be a part of this, the spirits will be good, the talent will be amazing, and not limited to just DJing. Poi, light-shows, drum circles, and a hell of a lot of PLUR going on.

DC is suppose to get up to 94 today with mad humidity. Hot, hot, make yah wanna sweat--need that summer mix to keep yah going! This is a little off from what I normally post which is that grime dubstep, however this is the Underground, there are many forms of bass and womps--today's mix is DrumnBass themed! However don't under estimate the power of wompppp--mixed by Dustin Roberdo, a local of the Baltimore rave scene, currently presiding in ATL. In case you missed the memo-Click at the legendary Paradox in Baltimore took place last night! Talk about some amazing party. Although most of the Baltimore crowd made it's way to Unity in North Carolina this past weekend, masses still managed to make it out for Click-headliner being the legendary Designer Drugs.
After a long friday night-and a late start to my Saturday afternoon, I finally made my way out round 11pm with my usual rave crew-King J4MES & Borticus included! Good vibes, open air, BB-Q's, ravetastic lights, graffiti, hoopers, and even some Avatars ;)
Opening for Designer Drugs-DJ group, Deadhead DJ's straight outta the UK. Having the opportunity to meet them, we had to ask how they were enjoying America, what they thoughtof the Baltimore rave scene and such. Intriguing really, they mentioned how in the UK dubstepis way past the norm, and they're challenge is to come up with new genres as opposed to justplain dubstep/dnb. Also mentioned, upon being flown into America and put up in a nice hotel, each was give $500 for spending money. Ah, the wonderful life of being a DJ. Spinning live, from 11-4am, this show is not to be missed. Up and coming, James Durant and Nick Bortz are quickly hitting the dubstep/electro scene and proving that time does not make the artist, rather dedication. Having only started spinning a few months back, Nick has already shown great potential and easily latches on to any type of genre. He currently is learning how to mix drum and bass. James, on the other hand, is a vetran to the game. Hailing from Portland, James has been spinning since 2007 and continues to get better and better with each passing minute. His more relaxed dub/electro make for perfect post rave relaxtion, however don't underestimate the power of his womps.
Thus, King J4MES and Borticus were born, bringing both firepower and realism. Using influences such as Jakwob, 2Rip, Eskmo, Daedelus, & Nosia. Drinks are cheap, and its a free cover charge. You don't wanna miss them, up and coming, expect big things from these two in the future!

Hello and Happy Sunday to everyone! I hope people got a chance to make it out to Rolling On Dubs 2 yesterday at the black hole-unfortunately, I was not able to make it, however there are photographs already up on various sites. For those of you that were able to make it, awesome! I heard it was sick as usual, with the whole night dedicated to dubstep.
To all you Ithacans, I hope you were able to make it out to Thumpy Nation's event last night, the Indobox! It was suppose to be a killer event and I had friends that headed out and went all out for the celebration!
Gotta love spring season, brings out the inner party animal in everyone. I'm gonna hit you with three doses of dub today, and i'm gonna mix it up for ya. One is a dubstep track, one is a drumnbass track, and one is a happy hardcore track. After all, all three genres bring their A game to the table, it's only fair all three have the chance to spread-and that is our job baby.
Your dubstep track for today happens to be two of my favorite dubstep artists, Archangel and Mt. Eden. Both are known for a more darker, slower dubstep-and always dropping ill wobbles. The song is intense, let it slow you down and fall into the muisc.

So glad to be posting this. Love, love, love this woman! Her name is Madam Bliss. When I first got into this whole dubstep scene, I went to a show and saw her, and then later on a few months later saw her yet again, and met her! What I love about her is she was my first woman dubstep artist. Ofcourse there's Reid Speed and others, but I loved how she would just spin like it was no one's buisness at the Black Hole. And spin she did, she's been at this for quite some time, and she adds an awesome touch with the dreads. I finally was able to find 3, 1-hour long mixes by her, and today's daily dose is one of them. It's called Dublissious! Tastey, it just rolls off the tounge doesn't it. You have an hour of dubstep that goes from heavy, grimey,
wobbly basslines, to mellow, reggae sounding beats and back to the grime.
It is essentially, Grime. Luckly, for those of you in the
Boy, i just couldn't wait till morning to share this one. Love, love, love it. It's grime, it's simple, and it's got the vocal background that i love. You know, that one guy who pops up in those songs, "as far back as I can remember i wanted to be a gangerster," "yippie-ky-a mother fucker," and "make my day," deep and dark comes to mind every time. The song is by Datski, be sure to also check out his sick MySpace. How would he descibe his sound? "Grimey industrial devious future ninja techbots wrapped in tinfoil and thrown down the stairs, only to be ran over by a steamroller and hung out to dry." He's originally from Canada, and definately knows how to bring on the dirty."

With almost 2 decades of experience behind the decks, Genki is no stranger to the world of dj'ing and electronic music. From a very early age, he knew exactly what it was he wanted to do with his life, and that was to spread the joy that music brought him to every single person he could. His passion for dj'ing and electronic dance music have stood the test of time, as he seems equally as energetic behind the decks as he did when he first started. Genki's addiction to vinyl and dj'ing started at a very young age, and by the time he was just 18 years old, he had scored a residency dj'ing to thousands each week at Virginia's largest nightclub The Abyss, and was named head dj. He held onto this residency for 5 years, all the while touring to various Hardcore and Drum & Bass shows around the country, playing at underground and club venues alike. Since The Abyss, Genki has obtained residencies at several notable nightclubs including The Ambush, Avanti's, The Wave, Club Vanqual, Dance 4 Life, Soundscape, Club Exit NYC, and Omega Bar as well as consistently played on several US and UK hardcore internet radio stations over the past 12 years.
Although he stays busy with dj'ing, he never seems to tire of the Hardcore sound, as it's very evident in his sets that this music moves him greatly. Having a great affinity towards the melodic, uplifting freeform sound, he blends his roots in ambient and new age music with the energetic, driving sounds of hardcore into a seamless mix that progresses smoothly from beginning to end. His unique sound is coupled by his very high energy performances that leave everyone coming back for more. Still playing on several internet radio stations, playing in a band, and running a massive bi-weekly called Hollodeck, Genki only plans to work even harder in the coming years, hell bent on putting more smiles on faces and exposing more people to the sound that he loves so much. Now a part of the band A.I. (vocals/synth/programming), music videos are in the works as well as upcoming shows for the band and more expansion into other subgenres. His main focus however, has not changed over the years, as he firmly believes it's the ravers that keep him going, and he certainly loves to give them what they want!

“Trigga Happy” is a unique happy hardcore tag team duo based out of Washington DC and Baltimore. Their focus is not only on slamming dance floors with bass heavy beats but also taking crowd participation to a new level during their sets. They constantly rotate between crushing the decks and leading a multitude of stage acts. Crowd interaction is everything to this duo. They are constantly coming up with new and exciting ways to get the crowd involved, bringing them the freshest beats and the wildest stage acts around. DJ Treachery ‘The Torn Prince’ began his career as a DJ, rather ironically, through an introduction to the art form by a formidable member of the DC Punk and Hardcore scene. Tom Lyle, the guitarist of Government Issue, mentored DJ Treachery and helped him get his start as a DJ in Hip Hop at the tender age of 15, performing at house and block parties under various aliases. Not long after his initial start with Hip Hop, DJ Treachery began to experiment with different styles of electronic dance music, incorporating the forms into his celebrated party-rocking mixes. His reputation as a versatile DJ grew rapidly, and earned him a weekly residency at WQFS Radio while in school…all the while producing Hip Hop beats for various rap and R&B groups. Upon graduation from university, DJ Treachery took a break from music; to travel, find inspiration, and reinvent himself as an artist. Emerging fresh in the summer of 2007, ditching his old alias and renaming himself “DJ Treachery ‘The Torn Prince,’” without a doubt is quickly becoming a fast rising star in the American Hardcore scene. His relentless spit-fire style mixing, complemented by his original productions have earned him love and respect from die-hard gabbers around the world, and earning him spots in some of the most notorious and respected Hardcore DJ crews in the USA. Recently signed onto Convulsive Records in Belgium, DJ Treachery ‘The Torn Prince’ will soon leave his mark on the world and be recognized as a Prince of American Hardcore
